Back in the Gallery Studio

Back in the Gallery Studio

How can I express what I really feel after doing such an extremely big solo show of Char-coal Drawings in May, 2010 at Outworks Gallery. There are so many ways.
I've reserved these words for my Studio Journal, where I acknowledge everything I can by expressing the seemingly high flow of ideas, comments, views, opinions, points of fact. Of course the use of digital photo's and filming with my camcorder, brings me closer to the art I've created, the art work on the white walls of Outworks Gallery. So with the personal audio and visuals, I examine the 10 months of self doubt with the exhausting Psychological and physical self critique. Thus, I'm finally ready to take a breath and step back into the Gallery / Studio to once again create.

I have began to feel the energetic vibes, with the existence of observation riding on a wave of inspiration though some new readings and research. Since June till now I have been able to appreciate the time away from creating work every day at the studio. The rest from the mind cramps, pressures and deadlines of a solo show have given me a new existence and enthusiasm.

While back in the studio I have ventured back to my small abstracts that I had started creating about 6 or 7 years ago with great success. These small creations have a Wassily Kandinsky-like approach with shapes and color with the Finlay twist of Multimedia. Also there is a sense of the geometric style of Moholy-Nagy-like and Paul Klee-like that filters into the art that I create.

I usually escape from one style of art to another, so while I do the abstract art that takes me back to the Bauhaus era and fills my creative juices with excitement. I have began the research towards a new series of work in landscapes. This work will be in various mediums, such as colored pastels, oils and acrylics.

I'm back in the studio, feels good and I'm taking it easy, enjoying some summer fun and creating.

Hope all my friends, artists and viewers have a great summer.
