History in the Making by just 11 artists and Renee Phillips

History in the Making by Just 11 Artists
and Renee Phillips

On September 6th, 2010, the first group or members to the Artist Success Program was underway on our or at least my first Teleclass with Renee Phillips, The Artrepreneur of Manhattan Arts International, Helping Artists Pursue Their Passion.

This 7 week course will assist me and 10 other artists in what ever our hopes and dreams are. This will assist me and the members in our pursuit for a more fulfilling career in the visual arts and possibly beyond.

The Teleclass that was to take an hour was extended much longer because of the high energy, enthusiasum and promise from Renee Phillips to engage with each artist individually and as a group. This positive energy created an excitement from all the members.

To be truth-full I found myself privileged to be among such a diverse group of artists. As I sat in my artist studio at home listening and conversing with this group I found my passion for excitement go forward again as I did when I first had my first art show. Not really knowing how all this would turn out, but knowing that in the end all would turn out better than one could ever hope!

This is an interesting experience, because I'm used to being in front of a table surrounded by artists in a conference room. But here I'm hundreds of miles away trying to make sense of each and everyone's specific challenge they bring to Renee Phillips for direction. This is so Cool !!!

I was indeed thinking and wanting to jump in with every moment of conversation to get more than a few words in, as I know everyone else felt the same way I'm sure. I found that this wonderful member Roseann who seem to know so much more about the business side of art than I, was someone I could sit for hours picking her brain with questions. As in, " What do you think I could do here? " Then in the same breath ask Renne Phillips if it was tangible for me to consider.

As my thoughts, ideas and questions during this Teleclass were swirling, I found myself writing down as much as I could for the information given by each member. I'm sure that this one hour Teleclass could have been 5 hours , maybe more.

"Poor Reneee, do you know what you have got yourself into?" I commend you Renee for bringing this Program to realization. I applaud your efforts and dedication. I look so forward to this venture with you all and hope you all reach your goals you wish for.

Let History Begin !!!

Renee Phillips The Artrepreneur Coach: The Importance of Goals

Renee Phillips The Artrepreneur Coach: The Importance of Goals

In reading this article and the comments I am trying to imagine the results of all my actions I am going to be taking to make myself practice goal setting as a tool. Relying on the setting of my goals on a weekly basis and having full intentions needed to bring the results I wish to receive. I realize that I need more coaching in this area to assist me in focusing on the details which are so important to each goal needed. Results will become positive though specific goals that will enhance my purpose of becoming the artist I believe I can be. I have always used goals to assist me in my endeavors, but it is time to use more specific goals in this quest of being the artist I want to be.

Success in Art with other artists

Success in Art

Today gives me pleasure in saying I'm looking forward to an exciting 6 week venture that I know will enhance my art, the delivering of my artistic works to the art community, enthusiasts, collectors, buyers and galleries across North America and beyond.

I've made contact with some of the other 10 artists that are about to endeavor, as I am in the new Artist Success Program by Artrepreneur Coach Renee Phillips of Manhattan, N.Y.

Recently making contact with some of the artists that are all across North America and doing various styles, techniques, and mediums in art is very exciting.
With contacting, viewing of these artists, their work, making comments and expressing some thoughts of what is seen, brings on a collaboration of thought towards the art done by 11 different artists. This is probably nothing new of artists collaborating with each other.

But, in this case an opportunity for me and 10 other artists to have the experience of an art coach as in Renee Phillips to help with the understanding of business in computers, web-sites, digital media, advertising etc is a great chance to better one's self in this over bearing business world. The helping of Artists pursue their passions, set up ways to get their art out there and still be able to sell art to art lovers.

I can now look forward to seeing a spark of light that will soon shine brightly by creating a focus on my Art career. I've been trying to achieve this for some time now.
Some times an artist must step out of his or her shell and ask for help from a professional as in Renee Phillips.

Now, here's something interesting to this. I'm already praising Renee Phillips for the help and success that she is about to give me before I've even started this program.

Now that's what I call Faith.

Thanks Renee

Back in the Gallery Studio

Back in the Gallery Studio

How can I express what I really feel after doing such an extremely big solo show of Char-coal Drawings in May, 2010 at Outworks Gallery. There are so many ways.
I've reserved these words for my Studio Journal, where I acknowledge everything I can by expressing the seemingly high flow of ideas, comments, views, opinions, points of fact. Of course the use of digital photo's and filming with my camcorder, brings me closer to the art I've created, the art work on the white walls of Outworks Gallery. So with the personal audio and visuals, I examine the 10 months of self doubt with the exhausting Psychological and physical self critique. Thus, I'm finally ready to take a breath and step back into the Gallery / Studio to once again create.

I have began to feel the energetic vibes, with the existence of observation riding on a wave of inspiration though some new readings and research. Since June till now I have been able to appreciate the time away from creating work every day at the studio. The rest from the mind cramps, pressures and deadlines of a solo show have given me a new existence and enthusiasm.

While back in the studio I have ventured back to my small abstracts that I had started creating about 6 or 7 years ago with great success. These small creations have a Wassily Kandinsky-like approach with shapes and color with the Finlay twist of Multimedia. Also there is a sense of the geometric style of Moholy-Nagy-like and Paul Klee-like that filters into the art that I create.

I usually escape from one style of art to another, so while I do the abstract art that takes me back to the Bauhaus era and fills my creative juices with excitement. I have began the research towards a new series of work in landscapes. This work will be in various mediums, such as colored pastels, oils and acrylics.

I'm back in the studio, feels good and I'm taking it easy, enjoying some summer fun and creating.

Hope all my friends, artists and viewers have a great summer.
